Each tournament sets its own lock time, and you'll see it on the tournament page and on your bracket. It lands just before main-draw play — which is not always the tournament's opening day, since qualifying and early rounds often run ahead of it. Anything you haven't picked by then stays blank.
As often as you like, right up until your bracket locks. After that your picks are final for the rest of the tournament.
None. It runs on bragging rights alone. No betting, no buy-in, and no money changing hands.
If they pull out before the match is played, their opponent advances and the match is voided — nobody gains or loses points on it, whoever they picked. A retirement once play has started is different: that is a real result, so the player who advanced counts as the winner and picks are scored normally.
